I once had a soldier nutcracker that you put the nut in it’s mouth and pulled down the arms to crack the nut. First time I used it the arms broke off and the head popped off. Oh well I enjoy Tchaikovsky!
I’d pay good money for a traditional style nutcracker made of iron (not wood) and in the likeness of Margaret Thatcher.

Grandparents always had a bowl of nuts with the crackers and picks accompanying them at Christmas.
Now people just buy them ready to eat if at all.
Lots of little things seem to have faded or are fading away.
Things are as homemade do it yourself anymore.
And we’re less healthy.

This Thanksgiving we had Stovetop Stuffing.
St least the gravy and the potatoes were real.

Mrs. RMM and I took our oldest granddaughter to see the Nutcracker at the Houston Ballet this afternoon. We had a wonderful time.

I remember a case of oranges showing up Christmas of ’65. That was a big deal.
