Malibu residents evacuating their homes amid Franklin Fire

NBC – Many residents in Malibu woke up to the news that a wildfire in their neighborhood had grown overnight. 

The Franklin Fire, which had started Monday at around 11 p.m., has now grown to well over 2,000 acres. 

About 18,000 residents live in the area affected by the fire, according to officials. 

Sheriff’s deputies went door to door, waking up residents and letting them know they had to evacuate.  more

  1. Every year. this happens every year. It starts in the endless fingers of canyons. The Santa Anas show up, and now you have yourself a blow torch. The fuel is Manzanita and Scrub Oak. The mud slides will quickly follow due to soil erosion because the scrub brush is gone. You’d think somebody would come up with something else to plant in those canyons. They could aerially seed it right after the fires.

  2. Just this weekend I heard that stupid assed Governor Inslee (D-WA) blaming the smoke from the wildfires in Canada on Global Warming, so drastic measures are needed.
    If some jerk starts a fire how is that Global Warming?
    How can an entire state elect such stupidness?
