‘Heartsick’: Bomb Threat Made to MTG’s Georgia Home Leads to Tragedy

RedState:

[…] I’m heartsick right now. I was just informed that an innocent woman died today in an auto accident involving a member of the Rome Police bomb squad who was responding to the threat at my home.

My prayers are with Tammie Pickelsimer, her family, the officer who was injured, and the entire Rome Police Department.

These violent political threats have fatal consequences. It’s an undue strain on our law enforcement who must treat them seriously. The officer was responding to protect my life. And now, a woman has lost her life because of this despicable act.

The perpetrator of this crime has committed murder in our small community of Rome, Georgia.

The police shouldn’t have to respond to these threats and there should not be deaths caused at their hands.

I’m so thankful for everything the Rome Police Department does to protect our city and for putting their lives on the line to do it.

I’m sick to my stomach, but I’m also angry. This should have never happened and I pray it never happens again.

  1. Really hope they find the perpetrator. These are a different breed of animal we are dealing with, way after the turn of the Century, the election of Oblamalam and after the “educated” are unleashed upon society from our once-respected Universities.

If killing babies is not a problem, then…”what difference does it make?”

    of high value political people……
    can be mitigated by using…..

  3. No condemnation for the cop who was driving recklessly, putting everyone in his path in danger, and ultimately killing this woman?

Yes, if they catch the guy who made the bomb threat they could charge him under the felony murder rule for the vehicular death, but all police Departments have policies concerning the proper response to emergency calls, you must do so in a prudent and safe fashion.

To be fair, the article does not indicate who caused the accident.

Pickelsimer was pulling onto the roadway where she was T-boned on the driver’s door.

My guess the cop was driving well above the speed limit. Most GA cops drive at least 20 over the limit. The cop was also in his personal vehicle. The bomb threat was associated with a Russian IP, but that can be easily spoofed.

  5. @Rich Taylor…

Also, no guarantee that the cop wouldn’t have blown away some other innocent at his destination, if he had made it there. Cops have to get smarter about this stuff. Especially after multiple SWATs at the same address. The scum who do this stuff think the cops are lazy, stupid and hair-trigger. Sadly, all too many cops prove them right.

So it’s the the, what, 65 year olds woman’s fault? Not the swatter? Not the cop driving way over his head in an unmarked car? It’s the woman’s fault? I know several 60 plus year old women that I would not classify as defensive drivers. So if they get killed in a similar manner it’s their fault. I’m sorry but I think you have a giant charlie horse in your brain.
