  1. Yeah, I dunno…I kinda suspect that the CR fiasco was actually a gambit. It sure seems to have worked out that way. Don’t let the perfect become the enemy of the good.

  2. I decided to leave CA several years ago, the final straw being when Newsom was elected governor. Of course there was a lot of other stuff leading up to it, but that was the ultimate decider. But my reason wasn’t that he won, it was that the California voters WANTED him.
This brought that to mind. It isn’t that Johnson is bad. It’s that the voters – by which I specifically mean GOP members of the House – will not elect a person who will be dedicated to our (and Trump’s) wishes. And all I can say is that Trump had better do all he can without legislation – which is still a LOT.

  3. Johnson (Boehner and McCarthy Light) He put supporting the establishment government “wants” before the Citizens “Needs”.

He failed as speaker, he failed as a representative, he failed the Nation.
Johnson, regardless of his previous voting record, FAILED miserably. That will be forever his legacy.

  4. I don’t care if he tries to “nuance” the original bill as if it was the “long con” to trick the Dems into submission. I want a speaker who is plain spoken and walks into the room with a flame thrower on Day 1.

Milquetoast is not the man for the job.

His ‘legacy’ must include my permanent pejorative name for him: the Little Fucker. May he live out his days back in LA in shame.

  6. There was another poll I saw on X yesterday that I THINK (not sure since I didn’t really spend much time looking at it) included the current GOP choices. They did not choose Johnson, but Tim Scott. I don’t think that’s a good choice either. I’d rather see a true Conservative Patriot like Byron Donalds, Mark Robinson, or even Vivek Ramaswamy.

Vivek’s name has been swirling around and the Speaker doesn’t have to be a sitting Representative. I think people like him because his job in Trump’s administration is to pare down the government and some of that will need to be voted on by Congress.

I know it won’t be any of those suggested because there are too many RINOs. It might have had a chance if the Democrats hadn’t stolen about 10 House seats that were really won by Republicans.
