Even NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, who stands at 7’1″, sometimes finds someone taller than him. The Los Angeles Lakers legend recently shared a TikTok video featuring Florida Gators centre Olivier Rioux, who stands at an impressive 7-foot-9 height.
In the funny clip, O’Neal is arguing playfully with a shorter guy before turning towards Rioux. The towering Rioux left the former NBA star appearing more like a guard than the dominant centre that he was meant to be.
O’Neal captioned the video as “Pick on someone your own size,” embracing the playful moment.

Shaq’s a great guy. I think my favorite story is about him in a jewelry store over hearing a young couple putting her engagement ring on the easy payment plan, Shaq called the clerk over at an opportune time and payed the ring off for them. He left the building before they were told what he had done.
I think it was in 1981 when the Kings Lakers rivalry was hot and heavy and they were in the playoffs Shaq would come up with such funny shit even the Kings fans had to laugh.
There should be height regulations. Extra tall plays in a league with extra tall baskets. Reminds me of men playing women’s sports. Makes the whole original thing useless.
Midget Basketball would be great. Keep the baskets at the same height as they are now. Instead of scores like 110-108, they’d be a lot smaller, like a more reasonable 10-8. And each basket individually would then be more valuable. It’s the only sport I know of that doesn’t allow much in the way of defensive capabilities. That’s why you get humungous scores. Someday there will be scores like 410-408.
And all the players are double ball dribblers. So there.
