Between 2022 and 2023, notes the newspaper L’Echo, robberies and extortion rose by 23%, robberies without weapons by 34%, pickpocketing by 27%, and armed robberies by a staggering 53%. Eliminate any taxpayer/government funded security for the Belgian officials, “elites” and bureaucrats – let them rely on whatever public police force they have. These people can pay for private security themselves if they want it, although they will surely kick and scream that they are too important to do this.
