SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed laws Friday setting aside $50 million to help the state protect its policies from challenges by the Trump administration and defend immigrants amid the president’s mass-deportation plans.
One of the laws allocates $25 million for the state Department of Justice to fight legal battles against the federal government, and another sets aside $25 million in part for legal groups to defend immigrants facing possible deportation. During his first presidency, Trump sparred with California over climate laws, water policy, immigrant rights and more, and the state filed or joined more than 100 legal actions against the administration. The same fights are reemerging in the early days of Trump’s second term.
[..]The move comes a day after the Democratic governor returned from Washington, where he met with Trump and members of Congress to try to secure federal disaster aid for the devastating Los Angeles-area wildfires that ripped through neighborhoods in January, killing more than two dozen people.

Dippity Do needs to have the pressure exerted to cancel this law and have the 50 Million directed to help fire victims. A Special Master needs to be appointed to make sure the people actually get this money and actually spend it, and not funnel it back, to help with cleanup and rebuilding efforts before Californicate gets one dollar of Federal Aid. The Special Master also needs to control the Fed Money as well to keep the Leftists from stealing most of it and immediately start begging for more.

He met with Trump to beg for money – a common action for governors, particularly when they are dealing with emergencies in their state – and then he signed a bill to fight against Trump. Hmmm… if Trump has a say in allocation of funds – which of course he does – this seems like a really bad move. Of course nobody ever accused this diabolical narcissist of being intelligent.

Brian Jones has it right — this is a political stunt to maintain Newsom’s lunatic Left bona fides for the next GE cycle. By then no one will either remember or want the details and the lying media will proclaim that Newsom valiantly “fought” POTUS Trump’s “agenda” back in ’25. And by then there will no doubt be several more crises in CA that will distract anyone going through the ones today, CA voters will simply fall — once again — for the Left’s vaunted “we’re the good guys” schtick.

Because 5 feet wont mean shit in the middle of a fire storm. Our local NorCal Fire Department, in conjunction with CalFire, does roving inspection all year long. If you’re in a high fire area the will tell you what they need cleared. If you can’t afford it they will actually find funding for you. If you live in a concrete jungle they could give a shit less if you planted shrubs right next to your home. I swear, I hear this shit he comes up with and NorCal doesn’t even feel like we live in the same state. He’s a fucking idiot.
PS, If Trump is serious about fixing this state he needs to stick to his guns on voter reform being a condition of any federal money. Paper Ballots, Voter ID, same day totals. And this HAS to be done before the mid terms. We’re tired of being ruled over by DFLs.
