G P:
President Trump stripped the security clearances for employees who work at Covington & Burling, the top DC law firm that recently gave former special counsel Jack Smith $140,000 in pro bono legal services.
Earlier this month it was reported that Jack Smith received $140,000 in pro bono legal services from high-profile DC firm Covington and Burling last month, shortly before he resigned from the Justice Department.
The legal services were labeled as a ‘gift’ on Jack Smith’s financial disclosure obtained by Politico.
The reason for the legal services was not immediately clear. However, it was previously reported that Jack Smith’s prosecutors sought legal counsel from high-powered DC law firms as Trump’s new DOJ was set to take over.
It was previously reported that Jack Smith’s investigators were fielding calls with lawyers in DC. more
Is there anyone in DC who doesn’t have a security clearance?
RadioMattM – I used to have one, so they’ll apparently give them to anybody.
They need to do like they are doing with the ‘5 things you accomplished this week’ email. They need to start by assuming nobody gets a clearance and then add (or keep) those who are actively serving the current administration.
Now do Perkins Coie
Ya know, they rate prosecutors per their conviction rate. This goof is rock bottom. Even worse, literally all of his convictions have been overturned. He totally sucks at his job despite his manly furry face and his Star Trek wardrobe. Dudes a stone cold loser and turn about is fair play. Fuck him. He was promised a cushy job from Eric Garland should he be able to derail Trump. I guess that ain’t happening.
