“Sex workers live under the near constant threat of violence: 75 percent of all sex workers will experience sexual violence in their careers and nearly two-thirds of all trans people killed in the past decade were sex workers,” the so-called Keeping Sex Workers Safe Act reasons. “It is the criminalization of adult consensual sex work that makes it so dangerous. When adult consensual sex work is decriminalized, sex workers can vet their clients, can always meet clients in safe spaces of their own choosing, and can go to law enforcement for protection and support.”
It means crime will still happen, but it won’t be so awkward to tell the police. That is not the same as safe. more here

You either own your own body and can do with it what you wish (so long as you harm no persons or property) or you are the property of the state…aka a slave. But government has also destroyed society, the value of the currency, etc and is driving more and more people to engage in harmful and questionable behavior to survive. THAT is what we should be working on.

OK, I’m not justifying it, but is it possible that the trans sex workers that were killed had not disclosed their sexuality and had an irate client come unglued with the reality that he was in bed with a guy? Back in the late 70’s early 80’s, waaay before I was married, I had a room mate that worked at the same shop as I. So the guy has a birthday and him and his friends decide to cruz up to San Fran to celebrate. He ends up hooking up with this cute little blonde woman, renting a motel room for a night of pure lust. When our politicians PROSTITUTE themselves DAILY, and 330,000,000 people are the VICTIMS, I would say that they are in NO POSITION to be regulating, banning, or anything else, the voluntary exchange of sex for money. Well, it’s the LBGQT Nazis at it again. They sponsored the Illinois Sex Worker law with the Democrat legislation. They hate the normal, one man, one woman marriage relationship and children existing from that union as God designed. It confirms being queer is abnormal.
The government sanctioning self-destructive behavior fits right into the radical LGBTQ agenda to destroy the nuclear family and destabilize society. Sure women can decide their lifestyles, good or bad. However, almost all women who are prostitutes have mental issues that qualify them as unstable. Incapable of making decisions based on their best interest. Lots of girls too immature to make lifestyle decisions will be corrupted by this law. Trans women or queer men pretending to be women are particularly severely psychotic.
Once again, the left blatantly shows they don’t care about women or girls, because they want them in vulnerable and victimized circumstances. It’s easier to prey upon them like sheep to the slaughter. A God-hating evil agenda the left promotes.
I will go out on a limb and speculate that “sex work” is not actually consensual. The girls have usually been groomed, addicted to drugs, held in a kind of captivity, and required to perform sex acts. They are owned by powerful violent men and are not allowed independence.
Shame on Illinois for moving to legalize sex slavery.
It looks like Illinois is trying to emulate Nevada in making prostitution legal. Nothing good will come of this but more depravity and perversion.

Frankly, I don’t see much of a problem with legalizing prostitution as long as it’s licensed and the hoes get regular medical certifications. Face it. The sexual marketplace and economy is so warped now that most people are never gonna get legitimately laid. The dating apps have 80% of the people looking for 10% of the available dating pool. And virtually every woman, no matter how much of a smelly lard ass she is demands 6’+, washboard abs, and a seven figure valuation.
The world would be a lot more chill if the poor sod in some loser nowhere job could save up a c-note every once in a while and get a decent blowjob without fear of arrest or public humiliation. Then he could focus on improving his situation.
