Trying to find quantities of good beef fat for home rendering is like trying to find the Lost Dutchman gold mine! And the prices are eye-watering. It seems a lot of it is now going to make lotions and face creams. I wonder if lard is going to see the same price increases.

I stopped going there because their fries smelled and tasted fishy.
I wondered if they were using the same oil for the fries and their fish filets. Gross.
I’ll give them another chance. And then stop by the new Del Taco on the way back. Just in case. LOL.
That rapeseed oil, aka Canola–id est Canadian Oil, often smelled fishy to me even out of the bottle first time heating it.
I’ve been to Steak ‘n’ Shake a couple times recently; the fries do taste better than they used to.
If you are ever in Ocean City MD or the Delaware beaches stop this one of these locations for the best fries ever!

I hope this will bring back the Heart Attack Grill, home of the Quadruple Bypass Burger. YUMM! (look it up. They used to have a place in Phoenix, wonder if it’s still there?)
As soon as restaurants started using partially hydrogenated vegetable oils instead of animal fats for frying, I noticed a big difference. Too much fried food gave me diarrhea; I could still eat an order of fries, but a whole fish fry meal was too much. And get rid of the high fructose corn syrup!

Nope. Sorry. Not in a thousand years would I be able to eat one of those in less than a week.
MJA, it could be canola oil. That stuff smell a little fishy right out of the bottle.
AA, they sell it at Costco in bulk at a fairly reasonable price.
