Judge in Derek Chauvin Case Speaks Out Against BLM, Minneapolis City Council “Idiots”

(Substack)—Retired Judge Peter Cahill, who presided over the trial of Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, convicted of killing George Floyd, claimed that the “defund the police” movement and certain political actions complicated the trial process, though he maintained he ensured a fair trial.

In his first post-trial interview, the 66-year-old Cahill told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the media frenzy and political rhetoric, particularly from the Minneapolis City Council, exacerbated tensions.

  1. I will say this. Yesterday I was on my way to Walmart and I saw a black man rolling around on the ground. He could have been having DTs, or a mental break, but the one thing I was sure of, I was not going to risk a police officer’s or firefighter’s future by calling for their intervention. Let the race-baiters come to the rescue of minorities in trouble

  2. If Chauvin and his crew had only been an hour or so late to the scene, Floyd would have been dead of his overdose anyway, and no one would have given a shit. Just another inner city black thug dead of a drug overdose. Businesses would not have been looted and burned, and people who were killed in the rioting would likely still be alive…
