Newser-
Baltimore faced a mass overdose emergency Thursday as more than two dozen people were hospitalized after suspected drug overdoses in the city’s Penn North neighborhood. Emergency crews responded to an initial overdose report around 9am, only to be pointed to additional unconscious individuals in nearby locations. Police relied on witness and victim interviews and surveillance footage to find others who had overdosed. more
BALTIMORE SHAKEN??
THE ONLY THINGS THAT SHAKE BALTIMORE ARE ILLEGAL MURDERERS AND RAPISTS BEING ARRESTED, AND SODOMIZERS LEAVING USED, ENVIRONMENTALLY INCORRECT RUBBERS IN THE PARK THAT CAN INFECT KIDS WITH MICROPLASTICS
Isn’t the Nancy P form there? Wasn’t a member of her family invested in the illicit market?
Enquiring minds want to know.
Baltimore has been a mass drug overdose for years. Why am I not surprised. I feel sorry for the dopies but no one bent their arm to start being junkies in the first place
50 years ago that was a decent part of the city – not far from Druid Lake and the Baltimore Zoo.
Now it’s a shithole.
Actually, every part of Baltimore is a shithole.

Wasted money to Narcan them. It will just happen repeatedly.
Look at it like population control
Somebody didn’t cut the dope correctly.
anything is ok in balti-morgue, except arresting dindu-thugs
OK. Who’s been in my stash?
Ya know, it’s funny, but one thing I never in my life ever had to worry about is “drug overdose”. Weird.
A couple of things here.
First, we dont know how so many got exposed, or to what. It is possible they were drug abusers. It is also possible someone dusted otherwise innocuous food, drink, cigarretes, or joints with something. Not everyone who gets Fentanyl requested it.
Second, even if they WERE abusers, they are also creations of God. A Christian would regard ALL life as sacred, and not withhold aid in the hope that at least one such has a second chance to find the Lord. What they do with that second chance is on them, but I wont stand in the Lords place and deem them worthy of death myself if it is in my power to prevent it. I owe that to HIM, not to them.
Third, its basic humanity. Dont let people suffer and die. Someone loves them, even if you dont.
…but also understand Naloxone (Narcan) for what it is and is not.
Narcan ONLY works on opioids. Nothing else responds to it. But with an unknown down there is still value even if they dont wake right up as they may have taken multiple drugs, and opioid being one. It hurts nothing to try and may help with one component, and even be the difference between an unconscious breather and an unconscious NON breather. Someone breathing on their own is MUCH easier to manage.
Narcan is NOT a DEFINITIVE solution. It may TEMPORARILY wake them up, but they can relapse after a short time anx still die, so they STILL need to go to the hospital for DEINITIVE care. Also, if someone is revived by Narcan, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THEY BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE.
…be aware tho that they may NOT be grateful. To them, you may be someone who ended their high. Narcan revivals may come up fighting and puking, so you need to be ready to manage both.
You can do as you like within the limits of your ability and humanity, based on your own morality and experiences.
But for myself, having among other things once carried the coffin of a young addict to his grave before his grieving father who is a personal friend of mine who fought desperately to turn him around and seeing his 10 yo son watching me tote his daddy to his eternal rest, if I error, I will error on the side of life.
Where there’s life there’s hope.
Let them have that hope.
Looks like something out the series “The Wire”
company I work for up in NYC has cameras all over the country in the most horrific areas, basically all section 8 housing, this being one of em. every day they are just dropping
@SNS,
true, cynicism about the demise of others is uncalled for, however…
“Second, even if they WERE abusers, they are also creations of God.”
I’ve personally focused on ‘teaching how to fish’, as I have tried faithfully to do my whole life. Although I do ‘give fish’ on many occasions, I am not obliged to do so unceasingly. God’s Will be done.
When I worked at a Fire Department in a fairly large metropolitan area, we would know whenever we saw a drug bust on the TV news that a spike in overdoses and deaths would occur shortly thereafter.
The new suppliers would be vying for the business and the cut would usually be stronger than what the users were accustomed to injecting.
Here, there seems to be no warning. While I know people look down on these pathetic souls, they are humans and Americans.
Could this be an intentional plan to create disruption in a city? Is it an act of war?
Someone needs to get to the bottom of this – but that would require a functioning local/state effort.
I doubt it will happen.
