NATO to foot bill for missile shipments to Ukraine

BPR:

President Donald Trump told NBC News in a Thursday night interview that NATO will foot the bill for U.S.-supplied Patriot missile shipments to Ukraine.

Trump reached the arrangement with NATO at the summit in The Hague, Netherlands, in June, the president told NBC News. Shipments of the critical interceptor missiles were briefly paused on July 2 pending a review of U.S. stockpiles, a move reportedly orchestrated by the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby, but Trump reversed the pause on Monday.

“We’re sending weapons to NATO, and NATO is paying for those weapons, 100%,” Trump told NBC. “So what we’re doing is the weapons that are going out are going to NATO, and then NATO is going to be giving those weapons [to Ukraine], and NATO is paying for those weapons.”  more

  1. If I was Russia I’d go after the supplier who was selling weapons to NATO because they could not come up with them on their own. Like having a neighbor selling guns & ammo to another neighbor who was shooting at you. Duh.. stop the supplier.

  2. NATO countries are currently paying…..
    on average 2.0% of their gdp’s with a promise….,
to raise it to 5% by 2035….

The US is currently paying 3.4% of our gdp…..
My suggestion is that we (US) match the NATO average…..or we’ll get screwed over…..again.

  3. I confess that there are times when the actions of President Trump not only confuse me but irritate the shit out of me. If we are serious about ending the fighting, then why in God’s name are we providing weapons?
