22 Comments on Oregon’s New “Boat” Law: Inner Tubes Now Require a Permit

  1. That’s a bunch of bullcrap! Innertubes are exempt! even multiple tubes tied together is still OK without a permit.
How this FALSE story started, is a ridiclous UNTRUTH!

  2. Government is the greatest evil ever created by man. The sooner you embrace that truth and allow it to govern your attitudes about everything…the better.

  3. @OldCoot:

what kind of license do you need to tie half a dozen bureaucrats together and throw them in a lake?

It’s not a license, but a fee. If they sink, you get double your money back.

Two or more tubes plus a noodle qualifies under the statute as a yacht and triggers the luxury tax. There are however provisions that allow politicians and high-level government officials, their friends, family and campaign contributors to obtain an offshore registration that exempts them.

  5. I wonder how much of the collected revenue will go to what they stated. My bet is most of it will go to support the other illegal invasive species that have invaded Oregon.
