ICE arrests surge in Washington State as DOJ targets ‘sanctuary jurisdictions’

PM:
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made at least 275 arrests in Washington state in June, more than doubling the monthly totals recorded earlier in the year.

According to internal ICE logs reviewed by the Deportation Data Project at UC Berkeley School of Law and compiled by KING 5 News, between January and May, ICE made between 84 and 137 arrests per month in the state.

The surge brings the total number of ICE arrests in Washington to at least 817 in 2025 so far. The sharp uptick follows a broader national trend. Across the country, ICE held roughly 56,945 individuals in custody as of late July, an increase of about 15,000 from the beginning of the year.

ICE averaged 1,224 daily arrests in June, but that number fell to approximately 990 per day during the first 26 days of July, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse. Despite the drop in daily arrests, deportations increased in July, with ICE removing an average of 84 more individuals per day compared to June. more

  1. Geoff C. and I have been taking note of the number of unmarked all-white buses cruising around Seattle lately, too. We fantasize they are full of (or filling up with) “detainees”. If we ever have the time, we’ve thought of just following one to see where its going.

We’ve also noticed how peaceful and clean downtown Seattle has become over the summer. There used to be a perpetual protest going on, morning, noon and night, at Westlake Center, at the heart of downtown. Glad to report that not only have we not seen (or heard) anyone down there making a ruckus, but the numbers of drugged-out “homeless” have all but disappeared from 3rd and Pine, where there was basically an open air drug crowd every day. Even the drug-addled down near Pioneer Square and the Union Gospel Mission seem to be minding their P’s and Q’s.

We’re not out of the woods yet, but one can see and sense that the times, they are a-changing, in Seattle.

    It does my heart good.

  2. …something else we’ve been noticing recently is that there are far fewer beat-up Chevy pick-ups cruising around with lawn mowers and all-Hispanic crews. And they’ve been replaced with known landscapers, whose businesses seem to be booming. My heart goes out to our neighbors who have also been noticed lately doing their own hedge trimming and yard work.

That might be those FBI clowns. LOL. We live in suburbia, 1 acre to five acre lots. Lots of unimproved property in between. We have the cartel worker bees growing dope on those un improved areas. Talked to the Sheriff about it and he confirmed it. We witness a poop load of Mehicans driving up our semi private road in old beat to crap mini trucks with agricultural supplies. As of two weeks ago the hood set up a camera on our road and we turn in the plates to the Sheriffs department. Now they’re stationing patrol suvs on our road at 6:30 am.

  4. Brad — There may be some FBI on board, but there’s probably HSI/ICE on them, too! And they aren’t the spray-painted buses (rattle cans), but nice, clean, dark-windowed vehicles.

Glad to hear your local LE are taking your green acres problem seriously! I’d ask to go for a ride-along! lol
