That’s a Monk Dog. He’s taken a vow of silence.

Shhhhhhh…..
I thought I saw a Rabbit

…I have a conure and a Quaker Parrot that bark too. Sometimes at each other, sometimes at the dog.
The dog absolutely hates it.
And I think they kind of enjoy that.

Cockatoos can also do an amazing imitation of the ring tone on a smart phone.

If you can’t eat them, join them.

@Wild Bill, African Grays, too! A friend of mine has one and I was taking care of her bird while she was on vacation. I stayed their at her house and was working graveyard shift. I was asleep and on call for court one morning and heard the phone ring. Answered. No one there. Happened a couple of times and I heard her bird laughing from the other room! (Sounded like my friend’s laugh!)
I swear he must have known and was amused that he was messing with me. 😆
He even imitated the garbled sound of someone leaving a message and the beep that followed.

My wife is like that, maybe they’re married

Bird is trying to out-do him. Dog knows false alarms aren’t appreciated,
Bird gets cute points.
Dog gets boss points.
My dog ONLY barks when someone approaches the front door. Nothing else. One of the things I love about him. Discretion. No false alarms or aggravating nonsense. Pure protection.
Teamwork
Maybe the doggie had a sore throat that day.
