…my Schnauzer is an attention hound, ALL the attention needs to be on HIM. When I come home every day he jumps on me at the door like I just got back from the Battle of Verdun, forcing me to pet him and grabbing my hand with his teeth if I dont. Yesterday, after the daily mauling I went over to kiss my wife and HE got so mad he licked my ear to get me off her when I leaned over, then jumped on HER and licked my kiss off her lips.
Duke was a rescue, and apparenly wasnt treated very nice before we got him, and I think that affected an already hyper breed of dog pretty sigificantly. Sometimes I may wish hed tone it down a bit, especially when he gets jealous of my wife’s chickens or the Quaker parrot, but it is nice that he expresses gratitude and love for us every day…

@MJA — Yes they are, but so are cats. Our black cat Dixie does the “backflip with only her head” if I stop the knuckle rub or brushing too soon. And our tuxedo orca cat Killer will tap me on the arm if I’m not paying attention. They’re constant companions and I love it! Looks like they do, too.

^^^Uncle Al our big ole tux male would tap you on the leg until you picked him up.
Anyone else here missing those CHEWY commercials that played just about everywhere last year ??

Our American Maine Coon (cat) Felix has a favorite toy. It is a fuzzy, lime green worm that dangles from a little fishing pole. Once a day, he carries the fuzzy worm to his food bowl and places it inside so it can eat. Felix is a considerate cat.
Who says dogs can’t talk?
