I realize Trump’s HSI/ICE/DHS are justifying their deportation efforts under the cover of “criminal aliens”, but I don’t think that was a very good bar at which to establish his deportation plan. MAGA would have experienced strenuous resistance and lawfare no matter how deportation of illegal aliens was put to them. That was an absolute given.
This administration should gone total “broken window” doctrine on illegals. Smoke out EVERY illegal, regardless of whether they’ve committed a crime or not. I understand that identifying illegal aliens is much easier if they’ve had a previous encounter with law enforcement; their names will be in a locality’s database. They’ll either have a warrant or a deportation/asylum/immigration hearing recorded (that they haven’t shown up for). I guarantee that Homan and co are relying 100% on these records, If they should catch others during their raids it’s purely by luck.
The reason I think ICE et al should not have gone down the “criminal alien” path is because the Leftist crew has turned an indicted MS-13 gangster into “Maryland Dad” with fairly good success, and we should have let them spend their time and treasure defending illegals whose sole crime is breaching our sovereign border. Because that IS a crime, and the sooner the Left and its adherents exhaust themselves defending these illegals, the better. I think it will only make it harder for Trump and ICE to fight this deportation fight down the road. And it worries me, too, that maybe when it comes down to it, Trump will completely back off on trying to deport the hundreds of thousands who are here illegally — and who are off the courts’ radar — because they simply cannot find them otherwise. You’ll notice that the next big group of people under scrutiny are those who hold visas. Reviewing all of these visa holders takes a lot of resources. But, again, these are people who ICE can identify because they are in a visa database which is accessible to ICE.
If the Trump admin is going to find all those who came in to this country and have simply disappeared into our communities, I think he should come up with a bounty plan which pays out to the average citizen who identifies illegals in their immediate communities. There is a tip line at ICE, but my guess is they are not interested in going after non-violent criminal aliens.
…the other piece of deportation that irks me is that the average American is wholly ignorant of the so-called “non-violent” crimes illegals commit simply by trying to blend into the general population. There are thousands of illegals who are using forged and stolen documents to obtain work, get drivers licenses, etc. The cartels and others are making a ton of money at this line of work. It’s not a victimless crime. It’s how illegals gain access to all kinds of public monies like Medicaid and Social Security payments. Additionally, its the disappeared illegals who are sending the lion’s share of “remittances” back to their countries.
Is there an internet blackhole that we can banish all these pesky trolls to. Geez Louise, where are they all coming from with all their phony scams of making money by doing nothing. I would think if you stupidly clicked on their websites, you would be the one who ends up being scammed. They’re almost worse than the damn democraps and are probably the same type of grifter.
