A report published last week on social media by American Truckers United shows that Texas companies lead the nation in employing drivers who are not proficient in reading and understanding English. Recent crashes, including a multi-fatality crash in the state’s capital city earlier this year, raised the issue to the forefront.
“Texas is largely responsible for the truck drivers that don’t speak English on America’s roadways,” American Truckers United posted on social media on Friday. “They are predominantly originating from the state of Texas.” more
They work cheaper than American truckers who demand higher wages to feed their families since they don’t live on welfare like the illegals do.

That said, that wreck on I-35 in Austin a couple months back… That guy had no business being behind the wheel of a big rig.

About 10 or more years ago I was driving my work van over Lookout Pass on Montana heading west on I-90 just before Thanksgiving on a snowy night. Anyway, a large Safeway truck driven by a couple of Russian drivers didn’t chain up and was in the left lane when it started to jackknife and ended up blocking traffic for everyone else almost at the summit of Lookout Pass going down into Idaho. You should’ve heard all the swearing by everyone that was stuck at these stupid, knucklehead Russkies for doing that as we all had to chain up to get around them. It was not a good drive home after a long day. When I crossed over 4th of July Pass in N Idaho all trucks had to chain up mandatorily by the ISP. at the bottom of the pass. Fortunately for smaller vans and passenger cars we didn’t have to chain up again, thank goodness. Stupid truck drivers whether they can’t read English or are just plain dumb and careless should not be allowed to drive large semi-trucks under any circumstances.
I’ve heard it said that you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. I’ve also been told that this is not true because Texans can do it, but it take two. One to hold the horses head under water and the other to suck on its ass.

Texas govt evidently applies the English requirement only to drivers who will leave the state; intrastate drivers get a pass. But if the TX authoritahs think that the test is only a feddle requirement, how about when the functional illiterates drive on the Interstate highways and US routes within TX? Seems to me Duffy and/or Bondi have the legal position to crack down on this crap.
