In an 8-5 ruling, a federal appeals court has rejected a transgender deputy’s claim that his county employer discriminated against him by refusing to pay for sex-change surgery.
The appellate court’s decision reverses a lower court ruling that the County health insurance plan’s exclusion of these operations discriminates on the basis of sex.
Although the plan does not cover sex-change surgeries, it does not treat anyone differently based on a protected characteristic, the court concluded. more

Sex Change Surgery is an elective procedure. You can identify as a female or male all you want….but doing surgery to look that way is elective.
Just like I can identify as a giraffe but to demand surgery to lengthen my neck, change my face to look like a giraffe and cover my body with spots….is not medically necessary. Matby I identify as a Barbie Doll. Same thing.
The insurance companies are not going to pay for elective surgeries, especially ones like these. There would be no end to it and then no one would have insurance for REAL issues.
They might pay for some psychological counseling though. There is a need for THAT
But, A Federal “Judge” just ruled that the state must pay for prisoners sex change procedures. The judiciary is crazy.
