Sinclair Broadcasting Group will still not air Jimmy Kimmel Live! on its 33 ABC affiliate stations even after Disney struck a deal for him to return from his short-lived suspension.
As Breitbart News reported on Monday, Disney and ABC announced that Jimmy Kimmel would be returning to his late-night show after mounting pressure from protests and boycotts in the wake of his suspension.
“Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,” Disney said in a statement. “It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”
On Monday, Sinclair said that it will refrain from airing the show as the company continues to evaluate the situation. more
Dang, now I won’t be able to see his great comeback and monologue. Oh wait, I’ve never seen a single showing of this late-night garbage.
Disney only said it’s bringing back the show, but talks with Kimmel are still going on.
Kimmel not on the show?
If Sinclair wanted to really do right, they should kick Stephanopoulos and GMA and The View into the Ashbin of History as well.
I honestly don’t care whether they air it or not. I think most people don’t care – they weren’t watching it, why would it matter to them?
I do think he should be held accountable for his malicious lies though.
Meanwhile, Katy Hopkins is arrested in the UK. But I guess that is not as bad as having your Constitutionally guaranteed late-night show canceled.
I never understood how the less talented half of The Man Show got his own late-night program and you have to actively search for Adam Carolla everywhere.
LCD – What you are saying is akin to “If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound?”
Well of course it does, but nobody pays for that!
Of course ABC knows that too, so the only explanation that makes any sense is that they are being paid to air propaganda.
Peter the Bubblehead,
Haven’t seen a single episode of The Man Show but did enjoy Win Ben Stein’s Money and was disappointed to learn that none of Stein’s brilliance rubbed off on Kimmel.
Sinclair has issued a statement and should leave it at that and decline to engage in any further dialogue. Of course ABC will try and get them to engage in order to pump the buzz. Just ignoring them is the best course of action.
Last time I watched a late night show Jay Leno still had some dark hair.
@ Different Tim That’s going back a little bit. I think it was Craig Ferguson for me.
Nexstar just joined Sinclair. I can’t wait until the Libtards that are hailing this as a huge victory find out that Kimmel will be on about 5 tv sets.

Trump/Team MAGA has their number. They are bleeding registered Democrats like a stuck pig, and the dumb bastards are wasting effort to save this piece of shit that is no longer of use to them. The question is: Why? The answer is that he is one with the Democratic Party leadership. He is one of the inner circle that forced Joe Biden on them, he is one of the ones that forced the knob gobbling cackler on the Democrat herd. This is the inner circle trying to retain their iron fisted hold on the Democratic Party. The problem is there is nothing left except the illusion.
With Nexstar and Sinclair sitting out, ABC is gonna have a problem selling commercial time for Kimmel’s time slot.
Don’t matter. Censorhip propaganda from right-wing owners, who would expect anything less. Anyone who has internet access these days can watch whatever & whenever programs & movies just about anytime they want.
These types of dinosaur stations are a thing of the past. He will most likely not apologize nor make any type of monetary payment for veiws.
Freedom of speech applys here like it or not.

I agree with everything you typed. But I would like to add what’s left of that miserable group of asshole are violent as hell. At least they want to be. And meantime you have the same bunch of idiot cheer leaders egging them on. I’m on X, not certified and rarely comment, and I’m on Reddit, where I can’t comment because I’ve been banned. Reddit is off the hook with threats. And on X you have the same predictable group of idiots doing the same thing. The Krassenstein pixies started typing the moment the memorial started and have not stopped. Same with Adam Kinzinger, Newsom, etc, etc. It feels like desperation. There’s also a bunch of Libtard pregnant women posting videos of themselves overdosing on Tylenol. Too funny. Even with their diminished numbers we run the risk of losing elections due to voter fraud. Trump needs to do something about mail in votes before the mid terms.
Does freedom of speech now allow for the public to publicly say the ‘N’ word?
Has freedom of speech now supplanted/eliminated all the leftist nominated words called ‘Hate Speech’?
“Freedom of speech applys here like it or not.”
If your employer fires you due to inflammatory remarks, that’s not a violation of free speech.
If the Government arrests you due to inflammatory remarks, that IS a violation of your First Amendment.
Guess who just signed into law a bill that give the state Government the right to arrest you if they disagree with what you’ve said? Newsom.
There’s lots of options and platforms when it comes to entertainment media in today’s world. I can’t see why ABC (or any of the other networks) would alienate half of its potential audience with so many different options available.
I don’t think Sinclair sees much of a downside by preempting Kimmel’s show. Ratings for late night talk shows are falling anyway, and again due to the numerous entertainment options available, audience loyalty is not what it used to be.
“I can’t see why ABC (or any of the other networks) would alienate half of its potential audience ”
Wyatt I think it’s closer to about 68 to 72 % right now.
@Brad: no doubt your numbers are closer than mine. Late night talk shows used to be entertainment fluff – which is what many people wanted at bed time. However, particularly Colbert and Kimmel shifted to pushing the Democrat agenda, and people who were expecting the Carson/Leno/Letterman/O’Brien type of late night shows were not really entertained.
Gutfeld is an interesting exception. However, Gutfeld makes no bones about being politically themed, and much of his show revolves around satire, bad jokes, and letting the comedians he usually has on his panel do their thing. Jon Stewart did much of the same with The Daily Show, and if you tuned in you knew what you were getting.

I hate to date myself, but I remember the old Jay Leno shows. Johnny Carson. Even Dave Letterman had some very funny shows. This new crop was vulgar as hell even before they decided to become our political mentors. They literally have no value.
With any luck Jimmy will be reduced to doing a podcast interiewing Greta Thunbeg about why she was dumped!
As the shitlibs defending shadow banning and account suspension for offending woke (non)sensibilities used to say, freedom of speech is not freedom of reach. Nowhere in the US constitution does it say you’re entitled to a television show paid for by private sponsors and investors.
But when the FBI gets you kicked off Facebook or Twitter for wrongspeak, then that is a literal 1A violation.
