4. Living in California for the last 60 years, I know exactly what it’s like to live in the land of the heathen, a sane man in an insane world, so I commiserate with Katie.

   But there are advantages to being a contrarian voice in a sea of surrounding noise. We are better informed, more curious, more circumspect, and more grounded in our values because they are constantly being assaulted and challenged.

   And, putting it more bluntly, we really don’t GAF what others say/think about our positions, either logically refute it or shut the hell up.

   Last I heard she was being investigated for something she posted. They’re after her. She should visit the states and not leave.
