While Democrats are scrambling to blame Republicans and the Trump administration for the looming government shutdown, the panic has not stopped them from planning a retreat at a luxury hotel in the wine country of California.

I’m mystified why anyone gets disappointed or outraged anymore by what crooked, lying, cheating politicians and government workers do. We know that that is what they do. Period. Given the circumstances, every single time, they will lie, cheat, steal and cause chaos; doing everything but their assigned jobs. Isn’t it a total waste of time and energy to lament them? Even our lamentations profit us not. They only serve to ignite a fresh hell of protestation, lying and cheating. Life is too short.
