Senate Confirms Hung Cao to Serve as Under Secretary of the Navy

Retired U.S. Navy captain and former Virginia Republican Senate candidate Hung Cao was confirmed to serve as the Under Secretary of the U.S. Navy in a 52-45 vote by the U.S. Senate on Wednesday.

Cao’s confirmation comes after President Donald Trump announced in a post on Truth Social in February, that he had nominated Cao for the position. In Trump’s post he praised Cao as being the “embodiment of the American Dream,” and highlighted how Cao had “served in combat as a Special Operations Officers” for 25 years.

“As a refugee to our Great Nation, Hung worked tirelessly to make proud the Country that gave his family a home,” Trump said. “He went to our amazing United States Naval Academy, and later earned his Master’s Degree in Physics. Hung served in combat as a Special Operations Officer for twenty five years.” more

    And the fact that he is a refugee (a fully assimilated ex military, from an oppressive regime to the greatest country on earth transplant refugee) is a bonus.

  9. I’ve held my comment on this for a long time, but silent no more.

    We adopted our one and only child from China — yup, CCP — in 1996. She was just less than a year old when we picked her up in the deep interior of China and brought her home; the final leg of a seven year journey. Upon two weeks of filling out more paperwork, and after more than a day’s trek through Chinese and Hong Kong airports, and after more delays and standing through exhaustion at our point of entry in S.F. U.S.A, we finally made our last flight home to a perfectly beautiful winter drizzle at SeaTac. As I looked out our window on final and landing — now glancing toward a sleeping Geoff and our sleeping daughter — silent tears of gratitude coursed down my face. Gratitude for my country, gratitude for a God who made us a family, and gratitude that we’d made it through.

    As soon as we cleared Chinese airspace, our daughter was no more Chinese than Geoff or I. She’s a thousand percent American. While still a toddler, someone asked me if she was grateful for being an American and for being adopted. I said, “Well, I guess she’s as grateful as any other American 3 year old would be.”

    Don’t be ignorant asses about so-called “Chinese” people in America. And study up a bit on what Asians from Asian countries look like. It’s easier to tell one set of Asian facial characteristics from another than it is in Caucasians.

    If you’re going to make ignorant comments about “Chinese” people, make the distinction between someone who was born and RAISED under the CCP and those who are every bit American — and possibly even more committed to this country — as you yourself are.

  15. I have screenshots of the results somewhere, Hung Cao was winning but Democrat mail in votes were about SIX TIMES the amount of Republican mail in votes. 🤷‍♂️
