Despite the pearl-clutching headline, this is not a widespread problem here. The only reason it made the “news” is because it’s in Bellevue — not all of WA. I hate this kind of sensational reportage. The “squatter” is obviously mentally-ill or very low IQ.
Nonetheless, and what should have been the subject of this reporting opportunity, is the bare bones fact that we have a plague-level problem of mental illness in this country that needs to be addressed ASAP.
