  1. “they threaten public health and erode trust in local government,” Gaytán said.”

    …dude…youre in SEATTLE.

Local government itself threatens public health and erodes trust in local government.

  2. Send in ICE to raid the taco tents.

    “I’ll take two double deckers.”

“Thank you. They’re delicious! You’re under arrest for entering the United States illegally.”

  3. I think you all misunderstood the article. There’s no claim that the “pop-up” stands are owned or operated by illegal aliens. The gripe is that the restaurant association members are upset because they’ve all paid protection money to the mob (this is usually euphemistically described as paying for govt permits and certifications and suffering intrusive inspections by nasty govt bureaucrats). The “disadvantage” they whine about is that the pop-ups aren’t paying the gang the way the big guys are.

The solution, of course, is for the big guys to stop paying the protection money. That would be risky, though, so they’re demanding that the govt gangsters actually protect them from something, in this case honest competition.

  6. GBI and ICE hauled a half dozen busses of illegals in the town 15 miles up the road this past weekend. I have not seen any Hispanic’s out and about this week. This is harvest time in a farm community and there are no migratory farm workers this season. There is nobody in the migrant farm worker trailer park just outside town. A farmer friend who knows I am retired but still have my CDL began bugging me yesterday about driving a grain truck part-time for him. He is hurting for laborer’s.
