Hamas chief declares Gaza war over, says terror group confident in Trump-brokered cease-fire

NYP: Exiled Hamas chief Khalil Al-Hayya declared Thursday that the war in Gaza is over after receiving assurances from the US and other nations about the cease-fire deal brokered by President Trump.

Al-Hayya delivered the long-awaited message as Israel and the Palestinian terror group signed an agreement to stop the fighting and allow the remaining Israeli hostages to be released in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

“We acted responsibly in relation to Trump’s plan,” he said, according to Times of Israel.

  1. I’m sure the only way Netanyahu convinced Smotrich and Gavere to agree was to promise the war would continue once the hostages are returned. He’ll try to make it look like Hamas reneged on the deal.

Different Tim – I’ve been saying that if they did give it to President Trump he should refuse it because it has been rendered meaningless. This recent award is once again proof that it is a politically motivated, meaningless farce!

  3. Macron, Merz, and Starmer are busily plotting to take over the role of Gaza “peace” overlords. My prediction is that President Trump will resist and fight the effort publicly, but in actuality be glad to let them take the failure when the fighting starts up after Hamas takes the timeout to regroup and rearm. This has been DJT’s plan all along, I believe.

But even if this hasn’t been the plan, I hope the Yerrupeans succeed because any nation/nations acting as peacekeepers for Gaza will inevitably fail.

Hamas hard liners track record will again shatter any hoped for “confidence”.
Will Al-Hayya return the $$ he received to seal the deal after Hama breaks the treaty?

  5. Good for Trump getting this far. Bad news, it won’t last.
For this deal to be permanent it would mean a 2 state solution and Israel/Netanyahu will NEVER agree to that. Israel will do something to make it look like Hamas broke the deal and go right back to using their AI to both combatants and the innocent.

This is just a speed bump towards the Greater Israel Project. Now Israel can spend time planning their attack on Iran.

Don’t take it from me, listen to Colonel MacGregor say the same thing.

  6. My first memory of the phrase, “Mid-east peace process,” is from 1973. That was a long time ago.

There are periods when no one is shooting but they are rare and brief.

  7. Anonymous, Jason is right on time with cynicism and skepticism borne of past experience with Israeli/ Palestine “peace deals”. There are plenty here ready to blame Hamas when the deal goes south. Is it possible that you could let him express an unpopular but entirely justified viewpoint without calling him “antisemitic” simply because he casts a gimlet eye on two proven Israeli douchebags?

  8. President Trump is really only focused on getting the hostages back. He is well aware this “Peace deal” between Hamas and Israel won’t last. As soon as the Israeli hostages are home, the war resumes. Hamas is focused on annihilating infidels and Jews. Israel is focused on survival. Never the two shall meet for long lasting peace.
