KTLA 5:

Fourteen suspects were arrested for their alleged involvement in a series of train burglaries in San Bernardino County.

The burglaries, which occurred in the Victor Valley area, were under investigation by the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station.

After narrowing down potential suspects, on Oct. 6, investigators from the Rural Crimes Task Force, with the help of BNSF railroad police and the Hesperia Station Detective Bureau, served a search warrant at a home on the 14600 block of Willow Street in Hesperia.

When authorities arrived, seven suspects attempted to flee the residence but were quickly apprehended. An additional seven suspects were found inside the home. more

  1. I better explain that reference. It’s so old so some of you young people may not remember the movie Emperor of the North Pole with Lee Marvin playing a hobo and Borgnine playing a particularly sadistic and zealous railroad engineer/cop.)

  2. I know that this won’t mean anything to anybody except another rail. The conductor is the “Boss” of the train that he is assigned to. He is co-responsible with the locomotive engineer for the safe movement of the train. He is in charge of the paperwork and everything outside the locomotive. The locomotive engineer always sits on the right side of the cab and operates the train.

Oddly enough, early in my career, I operated trains from Los Angeles to Barstow and Needles over that very stretch of railroad. I was blessed to finish my railroading in New Mexico. I “pulled the pin” almost ten years ago.

  3. hey Harpazo ! I’m still working as a conductor for the BeeiNesSefF , NEE to WIN turn , I worked out of LOSANG , SANBER , BAKERS, and SANDIE earlier in my career, got 4 years left to come December. These no good bastards go shopping on these trains between BARSCA and NEE , I’m glad to see they finally cracked down on somebody, the price tag for theft last year was supposedly $24 million losses due to this bullshit , just incredible
