    …of course, you are going to cause yourself and everyone around you MASSIVE pain before you die, not to mention that heroin addicts tend to do things for heroin that may well cause them to deny themselves God’s Kingdom, so bad chatbot advice aside it really is NOT recommended…

  4. The opioid panic has gone to far. Is NORCO an opioid? Why yes it is. Give everyone Fentanyl who wants it and eventually the problem will solve it self. I was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure due the chemo. So for pain, and I have a lot of it, the prescribed me 90 NORCO a month. Three a day. You would not beleive the hoops I need to go through to get it. And the reality is, it just takes the edge off.

  7. When I broke my femur I was prescribed hydrocodone for 4 months, 40mg/day. It worked well enough that I could at least move around and function. It was a bitch stopping, and I cheated with valium and ambien. Nowadays I make do with OTC painkillers and the occasional tramadol. If you’re in a LOT of pain, opioids work like nothing else.

    …I agree with you here, I was referring to its heroin recommendation specifically. We had a MUCH wider range of pain relief drugs based on opioids available by prescription years ago, and as long as used as directed and for a limited time they were generally not a problem. Too many docs got too free with the prescriptions, however, so it started to BE a problem, especially since opioids lose effectiveness over time as a tolerance builds up and more is needed for the same effect.

    But to me, it seems the pendulum has swung too far the other way. People who normally would abhor illicit drugs develop drug-seeking behavior when denied legit painkillers, leading them to terrible answers like Fentanyl and Heroin and “Oxycodone” pills made by a home tabber and containing God knows what.

    THAT’S where folks get into trouble.

    …you are right about the hoops folks jump through for legit ones, tho. My MIL is a breast cancer survivor with a BUNCH of other diabetes related issues and you would think you were asking for Meth to get her Tramidol. And they always try to sell Narcan on the side, but since shes not an idiot and I have some around the house anyway for unrelated Project Dawn harm reduction reasons, we decline it and, so far anyway, she hasnt needed it, and hopefully never will.

    But all this is beside the REAL point, which is dont get medical advice from the Internet. Not from me, not from you, and CERTAINLY not from a brainless chatbot. Find an actual human doctor and discuss it in person with HIM. A guy who actually knows the sufferer as a PATIENT, his weight, his height, his Hx, his pre-existing conditions, his allergies and surgeries and how HE, SPECIFICALLY reacts to different treatments is a MUCH better choice that ChatFYOU.

    But even then, caveat emptor.

    Because some of those guys still want to dose pts with mRNA.

    Might want to avoid THEM as well…

    Here’s the kicker. They misdiagnosed my kidneys. After an actual ct scan they’re normal. Mean while I’m listed as chronic and I have some very caring individual call me once a month to see if I’ve fallen and can’t get up. Usually right after I’ve left the gym doing an 6,000 lbs accumulative lift. And yea that’s part of the reason I hurt. But I’m not willing to give that up. I’ve purchased knee sleeves. Which help a lot. Just purchased some elbow sleeves. The smart ass wife asks, why don’t you just buy a wet suite. I did laugh. Now I’m trying to get back on some anti inflammatories.

    From Brad’s post, and how they can’t figure out what’s Happening with MY MOM at a TEACHING HOSPITAL, I garner that Modern Medicine HAS NO FUCKING IDEA what the HE!! they are doing except shooting AA Flack into the NIGHT!

    The only thing I can really say i believe is:
    1) LIVE as best you can WHILE YOU ARE HERE
    2) WORK, & SET ASIDE some MONEY to give your KIN a few yards HEAD START.

Help the mother of our friend Kcir, whose true name is known to You, numb her pains, guide the hands and minds of those who are charged to care for her but are limited by human weaknesses, and walk around her bedside as her Ultimate Physician.

    Lord, You know what each of us needs and what the number of our days is, and You can heal all, in this world or in Your Heaven as You see fit. Please show in this Your glory and Your mercy in giving full and complete healing to this, Your creation, in her time of distress.

    And Lord, send Your Comforter to our friend Kcir that he may know that You are in charge, not those lost in the hubris of modern medicine, and that You have his mother in hand as you have since birth, and give him Your Blessed Assurance that come what may on this earth that his mothers spirit is imperishable and that You may be with both him and her always.

  18. I have severe joint pain because of iron overload from hemochromatosis, and none of my doctors will prescribe me any pain meds. Fuck those quacks. I get my pain meds from people who get jars of the shit for a hangnail.

  19. Gov’t has no business in medicine (except for the prosecutions and executions of charlatans, mutilaters of children, and abortionists).

    Gov’t simply has no expertise; and the expertise they buy (rent) is biased.

    Just an opinion. This is the twenty-first century; NO ONE should be forced to live in pain.

  20. jellybean – Huh, I always thought it was illegal to present yourself as a medical doctor.

    That raises some interesting questions like:
    If AI is making medical decisions and reccomendations, will it be subject to the same laws? (of course not)

    Will humans hide behind AI when the shit hits the fan?
    (of course they will)

    You would think that AI would be able to reduce the Trial & Error factor that goes on with medications and pain drugs (and it probably will) however there will still be people whose recommendations amount to little more that shaking Voo Doo sticks and chicken bones hiding behind AI for protection.
