Schumer’s Shutdown Is Leaving Our Troops and Their Families High and Dry

Daily Signal:
It’s bad enough that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., is playing politics with his needless government shutdown. But his actions are having real-world repercussions for American troops and their families, leaving many in limbo and desperate for answers.

Military families are struggling with the uncertainty that this shutdown has brought and hoping that relief comes soon. Many services are temporarily closed on military bases, with the shutdown affecting families that had been in the process of moving across the country and the globe in the service of their country.

Republicans have repeatedly offered and voted in favor of a clean continuing resolution to fund the government with no partisan policy riders. But their opponents won’t budge.

The government shutdown began Oct. 1, with U.S. troops among the most affected. Approximately 1.3 million active-duty troops, including active-duty National Guard and reserve personnel, began the shutdown continuing to work with no pay, but President Donald Trump’s order “to use all available funds to get our Troops PAID on October 15” ended this concern, at least, with many troops receiving their paychecks with repurposed research money.

  1. Democrats are playing for time hoping that when EBT Cards are empty and govt employees don’t get paid that they can stage No Kings 3 and have more than paid protesters and geriatrics show up. Sucks to be them.

  2. Take the money saved by cutting off the fat leaches of society from their SNAP benefits and give it to the troops.

Prepare for those leaches to writhe and scream as they leave a trail of ooze/tears once they realize they have to get jobs.

  3. Activate National Guard MP units and assign them as bodyguards to all members of congress. Backfill with Rangers and a medic when all MP’s had been dispersed. About 12 per congressman for 24/7 coverage. Let the soldiers know that they are on the Federal mil pay schedule and will eventually get paid when there is a budget.

  4. “That’s the plan. They want chaos.”
Bingo. The Dems are bleeding members, they’re dead broke, and the only platform they have is we hate Trump. Might as well burn it down.
Eric Swallowswell posted this morning on X, don’t even think about running for President as a Dem unless you pledge to tear down Trumps ball room. How fucking spiteful can you get? He got murdered in his comments as all libs do. I’m not thinking they read their own accounts.

  5. Yep burn it all down or tear it all just the former East Room. If republicans wanted government back up & running they could. But lil Mikey has everyone in the House to hide out until further notice.
Your gummerment at work or not.
