This is hands down, the best thing I watched all year.

I watched that last week, he is absolutely spot on.

GM stepped up to the plate and took the Ford challenge.

BRAVO!! Well said! Love it!
My father loved his Caddys, but I could never see the sense of them on a middle class income (me). My feeling on Caddys is, “They never met a garage they didn’t like.”
Similar to my feelings on JEEPS, “Just Empty Entire Pockets.”
Give me a Toyota any day, all day long. I have a 2000 4Runner, over 250K miles, runs strong, all day long, minimal maintenance.

They only have to manufacture specific parts for 12 years, by law. That includes the Japs and Krauts as well. 2 year old Caddy with an LS 6, manual trans: periodic grease, oil and filter (just replaced the headlights, a rather involved process). No problems otherwise.

I’ve still got my timing light, dwell meter and feeler gauges.
I hold onto them in hopes that the auto industry will return to sanity someday.

It could be worse it could’ve been a POS Pontiac which GM killed about 20 years ago. Someone once told me that Pontiac stands for poor old ni**er thinks it’s a Cadillac. After making the crappy Pontiac Aztek Pontiacs deserved to die with motors and transmission not even lasting 50 – 75,000 miles. GM should’ve kept Oldsmobile instead of axing Pontiac.

Ehh… yes… Cadillac was my grandfather’s car, got one for the wife. Average maintenance and repair cost per year for the last number of years, $2,000.00. I bought the marque thinking it was a sound and luxury brand, it was in grand pappy’s day. NO, no no! Just an obscenely expensive and absolutely average to below average automobile. The locals refer to the ‘Auto group’ that sells them as ‘Cadillac in name only’ and that is the service truth. You’d do as well at a … ewhh… aahh… erp… Ford dealership. Never again, not one more time, no siree, Cadillac I am done with thee.

If Cadillacs were any worse they’d be Jaguars.
19
Why would anyone want a car that pimps consider a status symbol?

It seems that a multitude of independent mechanic shops now have YouTube/TikTok/Facebook video channels (Royalty Auto Service in GA is my favorite), and I’ve lost count of how many give this advice on buying a new car in 2025: DON’T! If you insist on doing so, unload it before the warranty expires, lest ye be stuck with 4- or 5-figure repair bills. Even Toyota and Honda are not as reliable as they used to be, and most blame federal regulations on fuel mileage and emissions for the decline. They all seem to hate the zero weight motor oils and absurd complexity in almost all new cars. Have you seen/heard the horror stories for working on Jeep Wagoneers and Ford Transits?

I knew it was over for Caddy when they stuck the trunk on sideways because, Government…
Uncle AL- A coworker gave me a ride home one day so I could avoid the bus. She had a Jaguar. I jokingly said, “Don’t we work in the same place?” lol
She laughed and said, “Girl, it’s a Ford.”
😂🤣😂

Don’t forget that the BLACK SHIT STAIN had his hands in all of this.

My wife had a Caddilac SRX that was given down from her Mother who could no longer drive.
SHITTY BLIND SPOTS EVERYWHERE – actually dangerous
Horribly over complicated controls for everything.
Sensors, Beeps for everything.
The seats had a vibration sensor to alert you when backing up or changing lanes without using your signal.
Disgraceful fuel consumption given the size.
Handled like a wet eel in the winter.
at 80,000 KMS (kilometers) cracked header noise & Shift pattern problems.
My mother in law is a wonderful person, gave it as a gift from her heart, not knowing it WAS a CURSE.
Its gone now. A Tiny bumper bender accident was WAY TOO $$$ to fix so we sold it for SCRAP. SAVED a Fortune.

You know those neat looking LED taillights that cover the whole rear of vehicles lately.
You don’t put in a new LED when one burns out. You have to replace the whole assembly.
Thousands of dollars on many models.

Many moons ago one of my uncles bought a new Caddy. After a couple of months, it started falling apart at about the same rate as this gentleman’s wife’s car did. He got mad enough to send a hot letter to Cadillac about it. After a few weeks he got a letter back from them that stated that Cadillacs are very expensive cars and if he couldn’t afford to maintain it maybe he should buy something less expensive (It was still under warranty at the time). So he promptly traded it in on a new Mercedes and never bought another G.M. product again.

I appreciate a good rant. That one was top-notch.
