27 Comments on Nearly a million New Yorkers ready to flee NYC if Mamdani becomes mayor

  1. Sounds like typical New Yawkah histrionics. Those sad sacks love misery. They’ll just stay for the recreational suffering that commie raghead is sure to bring. The corporate HQs may move thought because money is money.

  2. If Mamdani teh Commie’s elected, there may well be a cascade effect. As @TheMule says, corp HQs will likely move, taking their taxes and their high-pay execs and their taxes with them. And the smaller companies that make their living doing business with the big corps and the execs will start to feel the pinch, especially as NYC taxes shift to them at the same time sales go down.

Snowball. Going bad makes it get worse, ad nauseam. I just hope that before they leave, a large mob with torches and pitchforks take care of the Z and all his gang and all the neighbors who voted for him.

  3. Mamdani supporters will view this as a benefit. With fewer nay-sayers and obstructionists, he will be free to implement any dopey commie policy he wants.

I suspect most of his supporters are net drains on the system, they are in it for the free ice cream and cookies.

    And, for those that stay and have actual jobs, he should levy a 50% city tax on all income, Muslim socialists are high maintenance. As McCarthy said;

“Should five per cent appear too small?
Be thankful I don’t take it all
    ‘Cause I’m the taxman
    Yeah, I’m the taxman”

  4. Probably will be the biggest exodus, but not a million. However, as Uncle Al noted a BIG part of the tax base will leave. Supposedly they are going to try to tax them anyway – but companies know tax avoidance better than gov’t lackeys know how to collect.

  5. Trump would rather work with Cuomo and the other guy didn’t have a chance, even if Trump had endorsed him.

I hope the Sliwa dudes don’t get their panties all knickered up over that and crap on Trump. However, some of them, really are that stupid. Downright retarded when you listen to them talk on their chans. The Big Easy Blue Retard Juicer hasn’t been seen recently so a later report will have to be given over if he will buy the all new Red Retard Juice that his preacher is pushing to all his followers.

Bottom line is it’s not Trumps to lose or win. His endorsement carrys little weight on that election. IMHO.

    Also:
You can flee wherever you want, but don’t come here. You wouldn’t like it, and we probably wouldn’t like you, either.

  6. As a kid. I used to sit and talk to my grandparents (born from 1888 to 1899) about life in the Great Depression when they were busy raising my parents. They all maintained that Americans then had way better survival skills including how to live frugally.

That was in the 1960’s. Today, we Boomers still play second fiddle to our own parents in this respect, let alone our grandparents. But compared to the generations since, we’re now the wise old survivalists: more skilled at survival and living frugally.

I don’t think the majority of Americans can handle the hard times that are coming.

  7. I dunno. Could be a million. I caught an interview with a major of some coastal town of FOX early this morning and he claims he has New York businesses scrambling for commercial space. He also claims to have several banks looking at relocating. That’s just one little berg and only one state. You know damn well they’re snooping around Texas. I for one hope they elect the guy. So he can teach DJT a lesson. LOL.

LOL, where’s here, so we know where to avoid. To damn funny.

  9. Texas threatened a 100% tarriff if New Yorkers try to move there.

What happens when the locusts fleeing from California meet up with the locusts fleeing New York? Talk about a shit sandwich without bread…

  10. “Texas threatened a 100% tarriff if New Yorkers try to move there.”

Interesting. So if a company from New York move to Texas they will charge them a tariff on exactly what? Shipping their product out of Texas? That’s gotta be the dumbest thing I’ve read today. OR, if New Yorker’s move to Texas gas and food cost them twice as much. Oh, OK.

  11. Oh my a mass exodus of Maga, who coulda hoped for a better outcome.
So they know there is no safe place in America left. Can you say “We are so fuked”. The Army Air Force, Navy & Marines attack America now for tomorrow will be too late.

  12. Nearly every wealthy company-owning New Yorker I know, over the past few years (since the covid bullshit) already has established at least a part-time residence and satellite office in Florida. (Overwhelmingly, these companies already are almost all of them incorporated in Delaware.) Miami in particular has been flooded with the tech and consulting industy crowds. In a number of cases, particularly those who do international work, the New York “headquarters” has been maintained mostly for the status of the address. Brick-and-mortar retailers and restauranteurs will have a harder time, but otherwise, the exit will be phenomenally fast.

  13. About 10 years ago, the French government decided to tax the rich, up to 80% of their income AND made it retroactive 5 years. The rich had seen this coming and had relocated their headquarters to the Cayman Islands and other tax havens. Their beautiful apartments were now owned by numbered companies located elsewhere. The French government ended up losing “beaucoup de bucks!” and had to back off the tax measure. But the damage was done, once bitten, twice shy as the saying goes, the rich did not move their businesses back to France. Money ALWAYs walks!
