Breitbart– Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) announced that he would be introducing two bills that would withhold paychecks from Congressional lawmakers during government shutdowns.
Kennedy plans to introduce two bills, one of which is called, “No Shutdown Paychecks to Politicians Act,” while the other is called the “Withhold Member Pay During Shutdowns Act,” Fox News reported. Kennedy explained to the outlet that his “bills ensure Congress feels the same pain as” people such as federal workers and air traffic controllers are feeling without being paid during the shutdown.
“I don’t see missing paychecks or empty dinner plates as leverage or bargaining chips,” Kennedy pointed out. “My bills ensure Congress feels the same pain as the folks we’re failing to pay — our troops, air traffic controllers, and federal workers. If we can’t do our jobs and fund the government, we don’t deserve a paycheck — plain and simple.” more
Think as and research before you hanker for term limits. It’s a mistake and the founders thought so, too.
Somehow I don’t think stopping paychecks will have much of an effect on congressvermin in general. Maybe a few will be hurt, but most will at least have their insider trading brokerage accounts they can get cash from.
If you want to hurt them, Sen. Kennedy, freeze their bank and credit card accounts. There’s probably no legal way to do that, but OH BOY! would it be great if you could do that.

While I appreciate the sentiment, I don’t think term limits is a good idea. That would be handing control of the government over to the Deep State(t) on a silver platter.
A Bill like this should only require simple majorities in both Houses. All the Republicans need to stick together to get it passed. Watch the Leftists fight it every step of the way with their multi 48 hours 0f speech obstruction. AOC will burn down the Capital Building to keep it from getting passed because of her chronic bitching that D.C. is too expensive to live in.

Even libtards I’ve talked to think freezing Congressional lawmaker paychecks during a government shutdown is a good policy. The bill may not pass, but it makes sense despite being a financial drop in the bucket of lawmaker’s getting kickbacks etc.
Term limits are a good idea also, so we won’t have Deep State obstructionists like Nasty Nance and “Turtle, Turtle!” McConnell clogging up the works for decades.

This is the norm for the Republican Party and I’ve had it up to here with it. Bring up legislation that hasn’t got a snowballs chance. Is this supposed to impress me? Supposed to make me think that they’re really working for us? This system is f**king broke beyond repair. It can’t be fixed it must be torn down and rebuilt.
