Trump Administration Ends 20 Years of ‘Misinformation’ about Hormone Replacement Therapy

Trump Administration Ends 20 Years of ‘Misinformation’ — HHS Lifts Misleading Black Box Warnings on Hormone Replacement Therapy to Help Women Through Menopause.

For years, women were warned—based on a flawed and fear-mongering 2002 study—that HRT could increase the risk of breast cancer and heart disease. Yet the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) data, now reanalyzed, showed those risks were statistically insignificant and misapplied to women far older than the typical menopause patient.

  1. Oh, my poor mother. She suffered from severe hot flashes, weight gain, and mood swings during that time. Lasted for years. She was fearful of getting cancer because her mother died a painful death from colon cancer.

  2. I was honestly skeptical of using hormones for menopause. Not because of the cancer stuff but because weird metabolism runs in my family. So I researched & ended up using soy isoflavone supplements. It worked & made most of the symptoms bearable. Not for everyone but it is an option.

  3. For years the epidemiologists said women that had more children had a lowered risk of breast cancer. It turned out the cause was how young the woman was when she had her first child.

  4. I caught the news conference and at the mic at the time was one of the Doctors that researched this. That twenty year warning label was based on ZERO statistical data. Makes you wonder why they’d do this. It’s not just about getting through menopause. HRT in women increase bone density up to 40%, naturally keep women leaner, and boost energy levels. OBGYN docs scare the hell out of women if they bring up HRT. On the leading edge of fighting the crap has been the Compounding Pharmacies. They were keeping their own data. They’re a good resource. Judging by the conversation the early morning gym crowd had this morning I’d hate to be an OBGYN this week.

  5. I bare-knuckled the Big M. I didn’t know my eyelids had sweat glands. Fortunately, I made it through the other side without murdering close family members. They are thankful, too.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I eschewed HRT because it just didn’t seem to be anything found in nature. Also, I simply do not trust “science” by pharma — “big” or otherwise. Every one and thing associated with drug companies are thoroughly corrupted.

I’ve kept my bones strong by staying active and doing work that demands and promotes strength. Motion is lotion for the body. Don’t allow yourself to stop moving or becoming too efficient.
