We the People amendment proposal for reigning in congress:
1. congressional term limits (20 years max – too long? too short?)
2. congress no longer controls how much they are paid (the problem then is who sets their paycheck?)
3. if the government is shut down congress does not get paid, period
Trying to keep it as simple as possible but are there any other crucial points that need to be made?
4. No congress member is eligible for re-election if the US is in a deficit spending year.
