FOX: Democratic socialist candidate Rae Huang launched her campaign for Los Angeles mayor against Democratic incumbent Karen Bass.
“I am excited and very humbled to announce that I am running for Mayor of Los Angeles, the second largest city in our nation,” Huang wrote on her Instagram account Saturday. “After over 20 years of leaning into my call to serve God through social justice work and organizing, this path has led me in these uncertain times to take the unusual path to continue my calling by running for Mayor to finally see through the changes the LA social justice movement and I have been building for years.”
The 43-year-old community organizer and Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) member wrote that her campaign will focus on universal housing, free transportation, climate resiliency and affordability, issues that resemble New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani‘s initial campaign. more
Humbled? ROFLMAO.
I mean, how boring is this? If you’re gonna go, go big. Roll out the commie flag with the rainbow hearts on it and promise everyone USPS LSD stamps.
This was predicted many many years ago. What was the sequel to escape from New York? lol
BURN IT ALL DOWN
OH, THEY DID THAT ALREADY
“A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals.” Men In Black. This explains (1) the rise of socialism, and (2) why a pure democracy is a stupid idea (we are a constitutional republic).
Universal housing. Free transportation. Free childcare. Government grocery stores. These have been tried before, and they have failed miserably. We tried free/low cost universal housing and ended up with housing projects: mostly substandard, crime ridden hellholes of which many were torn down. Kansas City had a government grocery store that failed and closed this year after wasting millions of taxpayer dollars. And how is the government going to afford free child care and transportation when these require hiring employees, finding facilities, and investing in equipment? Everyone knows that this cannot be done, but there are a lot of dumb, panicky dangerous animals who vote and want things provided to them for free at the expense of “the billionaires.” (Fun fact – there are only about 1,100 billionaires living in the United States out of a population of about 350 million people.)
This is also why a pure democracy is a bad idea – once a simple majority of people realize they can vote themselves benefits and cash prizes from government “largesse,” the system fails.
There are now three political parties.
