The left once again showed its true colors after President Trump’s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday. The pearl-clutching commentators, be they in Congress or the media, immediately ran with their favorite narrative: the explosive meeting was Trump’s fault, Trump embarrassed America, and he “ambushed” the poor Ukrainian leader in an orchestrated setup.
There’s just one problem—it’s complete nonsense.
But don’t take my word for it. Even some voices on the left couldn’t stomach the blatant mischaracterization of what actually happened. Independent journalist Michael Tracey, who’s certainly no MAGA fan, called out the absurdity of the “ambush” narrative being pushed by the mainstream media.
“Anyone who rationally watches the full 50 minutes will see it was not an ‘ambush,'” Tracey wrote in a post on X. “The first 40 minutes were normal and cordial. Then came the self-inflicted meltdown by Zelensky. If you can’t rationally describe the meeting, perhaps your policy extrapolations are also irrational.” more here

Zelensky’s supporters in the west are warmongers and war profiteers. Without a doubt. What’s really in it for the average working American whoever wins?
Nothing.
Is the average American going to get a big farm in Eastern Ukraine? A big check from the Feds? Lower cost of groceries? Fewer taxes? None of these will be affected by the outcome of this war.
Do we get more freedoms if Ukraine wins? Fewer freedoms if Russia wins? Not on your life. Our freedoms will be won or lost right here in the Good Old USA. Liberals’ favorite word “democracy” has nothing to do with it.
It stands to reason that only warmongers and war profiteers will gain anything. Liberals and RINOs need look no further for blood-stained profits.
The Yurp western govt’s are also worried big-time about losing markets to the Russians. That’s what I think is motivating them. They want to use NATO troops to protect their markets. Thank the Marketing sluts for that.
It’s a war of western Yurp marketers vs. Putin who wants to make eastern Ukraine part of Russia so the Russians living now in Ukraine will be protected from modern day Ukrainian Nazis.
Note that Russia so far has not moved very far west from eastern Ukraine. That tells me it is only interested in the eastern part.
Just watched “Charlie Wilson’s War” again — haven’t seen it since it came out in ’07. Interesting parallel when the Afghanistan official warned that without U.S. arms aid, the Russians would be coming for us next.
Z’s blunder wasn’t about not wearing a suit or raising his voice or even calling the Veep “J.D.”. He threatened the U.S. with Russian aggression against us and tried to derail POTUS Trump’s diplomacy with Putin. The guy is so completely clueless. It’s hard to imagine a president more stupid than Biden, but there it is.
Our main adversary in the world should not be Russia. Some may say it should be China. Unfortunately, there is not much we could do for Taiwan now that we’ve helped China become a global economic and military power.
