AT: Two candidates running in California’s 49th Congressional District, comprising some of San Diego and Orange County, exemplify the huge differences between the parties. This is now a purple district, no longer red. Running for Darrell Issa’s seat are pragmatic Republican Diane Harkey and so-called Democrat Mike Levin. Levin speaks like a socialist, supporting issues such as Medicare for All while not saying how he would pay for it. There is such a sharp contrast between Harkey’s and Levin’s views.
It comes down to what people consider the issues vital to them. Levin speaks of forcing President Trump to release his tax returns as one of his top issues. He is not ruling out supporting impeachment for Justice Brett Kavanaugh and President Trump, while Harkey blames the Democrats for all the divisiveness in the country today.
They totally mishandled the confirmation of the judge. It should have been dealt with in private and before the hearing took place. Anyone who has a brother, husband, son, or father has to believe that the accuser needs some kind of corroborating evidence. Instead of concentrating on impeachment we should be trying to get things done for those in our district, state, and country. There are too many hot issues that must be dealt with such as border security, immigration, and national security. I would vote no on impeachment of the justice and president, but I really hope that instead of concentrating on that we focus on how to help those we represent, such as improving health care. Obamacare is not sustainable. We need a fix on health care that includes better coverage for pre-existing conditions, able to buy across state lines, and having a high-risk pool. I am listening to what those in my district are saying, including being able to choose their own doctor and hospital.
On Levin’s website, he calls himself “a passionate believer in clean energy,” but he neglects to mention that he is in favor of solar and wind energy. Reducing electric bills through renewable energy is only a pipe dream, since solar panels’ costs range from $11,000 to $15,000, after tax credits, with the gross cost about $19,000. Regarding wind energy, as with solar, it is definitely not aesthetically pleasing. The hypocrisy of Levin is clear when he lists on his website an issue dear to him: protecting animal welfare. Yet wind turbines, consisting of 212-foot towers with arms 116 feet long, are taking birds’ lives, including eagles, owls, and falcons. Since the outer tips of some turbines’ blades can reach speeds of 179 mph, it is horrific to see the bird’s wing cut off by the knife blade whipping down upon it. Harkey wants an “all above approach. But we have to think practically, and see what effect they have on the environment.” more
The nihilistic socialists must disguise their agenda.
It is too foolish, and deadly, to stand the light of day.
If they espouse their true intentions, the similarities between them and the National Socialists of Germany, the Fascist Socialists of Italy, and the Inter-National Socialists of Russia become painfully obvious. Their agenda is, at core, one of repression, hatred, slavery, and death – and cannot be implemented except at the point of a gun.
Thus they babble on (vaguely) about “clean” energy without any clear conception of what energy is, how it’s obtained, how it’s distributed, how it’s paid for, or what its uses are. Most of them exhibit very little understanding of the physics involved, and the limitations, thereof. They feed their potential voters (and victims) a pablum of Utopian bullshit sprinkled with Fairy dust and flavored with Unicorn farts.
And people WANT to be lied to: They WANT to believe that the train is taking them to “resettlement” in the East! They WANT to believe that energy can be harnessed for nothing! They WANT to believe that pre-existing conditions can be “insured” against! They WANT to believe that all the “other” people on the Earth exist only to serve them!
And therein lies their (the nihilistic socialists) success. They would be laughed into oblivion if they weren’t so darned dangerous.
izlamo delenda est …
“Medicare for all” should scare the crap out of seniors. They will be rationed to death, as delineated by Ezekiel Emanuel.
The GOP should be using this weapon.
They should also be asking AARP to help fight this single payer killer of seniors.
http://thefederalist.com/2018/10/11/aarp-made-billions-denying-care-people-pre-existing-conditions/
So the next time a liberal Democrat wants to get on his or her high horse and attack conservative policy on pre-existing conditions, ask why they support AARP making $4.5 billion in profits by denying care for individuals with disabilities. Then maybe—just maybe—one day someone could get AARP to put its money where its mouth is.
When are Republicans going to campaign that if you kill capitalism with its economic freedom, you kill political freedom as well?
When?
Hiding in the Republican party for decades are the seeds of Socialism and the death of economic and political freedom.
I fear for the future of this once great state where we had so much freedom. Todays young californian has no idea what freedom is. Let this be a lesson to the rest of the country. Stop the left/commie/socialist/progressives in your state or live as a slave to the elitists and their over-regulation and high taxes.
