Breitbart reports Angela Lansbury, star of the long-running series Murder, She Wrote and dozens of other film and television projects, has passed away at 96 years old.
“The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 AM today… just five days shy of her 97th birthday,” her family revealed in a statement Tuesday.
Enjoy the LIGHT Angela. Rest in peace.
My wife has seen every “Murder She Wrote” ever made.
She was sooooooooooo good in “The Manchurian Candidate”. Quite a looker too in her younger years. A class act, glaringly lacking in today’s Hollywood.
I had a dream that Dan Aykroyd died.
My Kreskinator needs adjusting…
Great book about ChiCom written when i was in high school.Made into a good movie few years later. SHE WAS THE BAD GUY! And played it well! 15 years ago. I said it was the McCain story.
Wife has watched Murder and its reruns for decades.
Oh no.
It would be really cool if she was murdered and it was in her diary she started as a 4th grader….
RIP
She was great in 1944’s Gaslight’ movie. A looker indeed. I think she was in ‘Pirates Of Penzance’ with Linda Ronstadt too.
She was outstanding seductive evilness in A Life At Stake, 1955 film noir.
OMG! It’s free on youtube https://youtu.be/Lsc9OlFzyzo
Awww…
When she played Elvis’ mother in Blue Hawaii she was the same age as Elvis.
Murder She Wrote is still a favorite show.
rip
Rest in Peace. We will continue to enjoy the works you left behind and Thank you for them.
Paul is dead.
I’m an old Western freak. Seen her in a couple of them. Pretty damn cute. A great pair of legs. What a career.
Godspeed, Angela Lansbury. A truly great actress in her early years.
She was in one of my favorite movies as a kid, “Bedknobs and Broomsticks”.
My daughter loved her voice work as Mrs Potts in the animated “Beauty and the Beast”.
I think my mom and I also watched every episode of “Murder She Wrote”.
Rest easy, Mrs Landsbury. You will be missed.
R.I.P. Angela Lansbury. Sampson and Delilah …Victor Mature threw her over for Hedy (not Heddly) Lamarr; AL not a bad looker.
She was great as the proto-Hillary in Manchurian Candidate.
Raymond’s American Operative.
The ManchurianI’m Candidate was a very powerful film, and I believe it was banned when it came out.
Rest In Peace, Angela.
My favorite role of hers is as the Princess in the Court Jester starring Danny Kaye. Can you imagine trying to keep it together with him clowning around?
