FOX: Jenna Fischer issued a lengthy apology to her fans on social media after receiving negative feedback from them when she tweeted incorrect information about the recently-passed GOP tax bill.
As previously reported, the former “The Office” star posted about how the tax bill will affect teachers ability to deduct the cost of classroom supplies. However, the bill did nothing of the sort. Her initial tweet has since been deleted, and the star posted a seven-paragraph apology and explanation for her actions.
“I made a mistake and I want to correct it. After reading your feedback and doing additional research I discovered that I tweeted something that was not accurate,” she wrote. “Last month, the House of Representatives voted for a tax bill that did kill a $250 deduction for teachers to buy classroom supplies, but in the final bill the deduction was restored. I feel genuinely bad about getting my facts wrong and I’m sorry. I did not mean to spread misinformation. I was well-intentioned, but I was behind on my research.” read more
Actors and actresses, just read your scripts. If we want to hear from you, we’ll watch your movies.
WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL?
Any negative aspect of the GOP tax bill will be off-set by rich Hollywood liberals giving away their ill-gotten gains.
It’s a win-win-win for everyone.
When we usually see what teachers are actually “teaching” we understand why the progs want to support them. More of the usual dreck of “it’s for the children” stuff that causes tax deficits and such.
“I was well intentioned”…sure you were you cunt.
she makes any more money and she’ll be a conservative and against all taxes for sure.
why isn’t income tax considered slavery ?
Because “I’m a feking actress! I pretend. For money. You dumb fecks!” wouldn’t fit in Popular™ Social Media™ platforms?
Liked her in The Office. Didn’t know she was still alive.
She came out swinging because she is a liberal and she read someone else’s BS talking points. Furthermore she demonstrates she has no understanding of the tax bill. I would have to guess the majority of teachers that are always whining about how underpaid they are won’t be deducting anything as a result of the increase to the standard deductible. I’m not going to applaud someone who admits they misspoke. That is the very least she should do. The road to the hell we are dealing with today has been paved with liberals good intentions.
In this case you do have to appreciate that when she saw her retraction wasn’t getting any retweets like her original post she sent out another asking her followers to share it: https://twitter.com/jennafischer/status/946133738462654464
Sure, she started by reading a headline and retweeting it. But at least her follow-up is sincere.
Had to listen to ABC News in a waiting area. News was full of misinformation re Trump and new tax law. Worst by far was NY Gov Kwahomo. He flat out lied all the way through his interview. So frustrating dealing with democrats because they hang onto every word ABC so dishonestly says. Because all other MSM news organizations tell the same story, in the same order, at the same time, with the same spin, there is no doubt they’ve all conspired with each other to dishonestly take Trump down with propaganda.
What else would you expect (insider alert) from a woman whose exposure to diplomacy only included “Beans and franks.”
She tried to play the Hollywood leftist “Hate Trump” game and it backfired. The apology is too coherent for a lunatic leftist, which makes me suspect she’s a NeverTrumper in reality.
