  1. Meh.

I was done with them when they sold out so hard that they let Run-DMC ruin “Walk This Way”, and shamed themselves further by joining in.

…still, they did have some really good early stuff, and different people like different things, so good on you if you enjoy them.

But I would really like them to reveal now if Steven Tyler and Carly Simon are the same person.

  2. …also, Im sorry, but at some point in the aging process, continuing to sing songs about sex and horniness crosses the line to creepy, and I do think the 76 yo Mr. Tyler crossed that line some time ago…

  3. He never sang correctly from the diaphragm. He pushed from the face with that vocal fry stuff on the high notes.
Same as Axl Rose, who also ruined his voice. That makes for serious wear and tear damage.

  4. The nickname for Tyler and Perry back in the day was the “Toxic Twins”.
My understanding is it was well earned.

To earn that with Keith Richards and Ozzie around is quite a statement.

  5. Just about wore out “Toys in the Attic” (1975) and “Rocks” (1976) on a Zenith console stereo. Those 2 albums alone were the hard rock foundation of my musical interests.

  6. Aging is one thing, but I can’t help think Tyler’s copious drug intake destroyed the soft tissues of his throat (he has a history as of late of other bodily health problems). Everything in moderation.

  7. Saw their first concert in New Haven in 1975.

    Damn, I’m old 🤣

Last time I saw them was in Virginia Beach, they scraped everything and played nothing but blues, concert really sucked. It was a good run for them tho.

  8. I watched a video about some wild Led Zeppelin concert in Boston when they were just breaking out, and some kid named Steve Tallarico was there. They made such an impression on him, especially Robert Plant, that he formed his own band. And changed his name a little. And the rest is history.

Meanwhile, Robert Plant is still chugging along, reinventing himself and trying different things as his chops mellow. Here’s hoping Steve Tallarico finds a way to stay in the game.
