GP: The Taliban on Saturday ordered all adult Afghan women to wear all-covering burkas in public.
The decree says women can only show their eyes if they dare venture outside.

“For all dignified Afghan women wearing Hijab is necessary and the best Hijab is chadori (the head-to-toe burqa) which is part of our tradition and is respectful,” said Shir Mohammad, an official from the vice and virtue ministry in a statement. more

  2. Gosh. I sure didn’t think this was a possibility. Golly. This is totally unexpected. Darn. I didn’t see this coming. Guess we will have to let about 500,000 Afghan women and their extended families seek asylum over here, since we let them down trying to impose a Democracy on their Sixth Century Society.

  10. It was worse to go there, build schools, let the people think the shithole would become modern, and leave, than if the States would have only bombed the Heroine Fields and had limited strikes against terrorist camps. Hell, Bin Ladden was in Allied Pakistan FFS!

    Loosing the little bit of freedom they had is Worse than never knowing what it was in my dumbass opinion.

    Just to burn lives and US money.
    Left 86 billion dollars worth of equipment so they could defend themselves and make a go of it. They promptly rolled over faster than the French. Hell, they couldn’t wait to put their hands up, and how about all those American citizens they left behind?
    The USA should never be trusted again to help out. Yeah, see Vietnam also.

    My Neighbour had a garage/yard sale a few years ago.
    She said to me, you would not believe the trashy underthings that the Muslim women were buying from her as compared to the other people. “and the slutty heels.”
