After Backlash, White House Prepares Rescissions Bill To Codify Some DOGE Cuts

Zero Hedge-

The big question in recent weeks: Why are House Republicans hesitating to codify the waste and fraud identified by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) into law?

Musk’s CBS News interview on Tuesday, where he called the “Big, Beautiful Bill” (BBB) a “disappointment,” appears to have kicked off a broader information campaign aimed at pressuring the White House to push House Republicans toward formally codifying some DOGE-related spending cuts.  more here

  1. This is the kind of thing that made me remove myself from the republican party 40 years ago. Spinless bastards. Only thing we can hope for is the MAGA party can embarrass the feckless wing of the (supposedly) conservative ‘party’ into actually doing something for a change. I’m sorry to see Elon go but the uni-party makes getting any changes made nearly impossible. Elon is a “Get it freaking done” kind of person.

  2. They don’t want to upset the applecart of their profitable corruption. Just as the “Cotton Whig”/”Conscience Whig” division created the Republican party, so too may the “MAGA Republican”/”RINO (including “conservative”) Republican” division result in the creation of a new party, at the expense of the old. The slaves freed this time will be Americans and other citizens of the US.

Would that it were spinelessness. The Republican establishment is a wholly owned subsidiary of the progressive movement. Their friends across the aisle are their business partners. The Republican establishment plays the roll of controlled opposition and has for four or five decades. Nothing, and I mean not a goddamned thing that MAGA cares about means anything other than an impediment to them. They are not only far closer to the furthest left Democrat than they are to Constitutional conservatives, they are partners with them in their joint attacks on real Americans.

  4. Indeed, what was the point of DOGE if NONE of the waste, theft, corruption, graft, etc is removed from the budget? Obviously it’s not up to the Congress, but asset seizures, arrests, trials, and punishments also MUST FOLLOW.

  5. This may be a once in a lifetime chance to actually cut federal spending. We can’t afford our government anymore. If Congress wastes this opportunity we are screwed.

  6. The GOP has embraced the Socialist/Communist radical left’s playbook; they just want their piece of the pie before we become insolvent.

Not realizing it’ll take a wheel barrel of stacked U.S. Currency to buy their Single Malt Whiskey and a good Cigar (hyperinflation such as in Weimar Germany in the 1920s).
