FOX: Carlee Russell, the Alabama woman who went missing and told a bizarre tale about seeing a toddler on the side of a freeway and being abducted, lied about the whole thing, authorities said Monday.
Russell’s attorney, Emery Anthony, emailed a statement to the Hoover Police Department stating Russell admitted to not seeing a baby on the road and was not a missing person, police Chief Nicholas Derzis told reporters.
“My client did not have any help in this incident. This was a single act done by herself,” the statement said. “My client was not with anyone or any hotel with anyone from the time she was missing. My client apologizes for her actions to this community, the volunteers who were searching for her, to the Hoover Police Department and other agencies as well and to her friends and family.”
Derzis said authorities were talking with local prosecutors about the possible filing criminal charges against Russell. He said a meeting was scheduled between investigators and Anthony on Tuesday to discuss what happened to his client during the 49 hours she couldn’t be found. more

My daughter told me about this the day it happened and said she was calling bs on her being kidnapped. She said you’d have to be an idiot to believe that shit. I don’t remember all the particulars, but something about her phone being in the car after she was supposedly out of the car.
I guess she’s on a true crime group and pissed them all off when she said it sounded to her like she wanted to disappear all on her own.
