Alaska’s Senator Sullivan Has a Choice to Make: Vote For Trump’s FCC Nominee or Bow to Big Tech

Revolver: Last week, Revolver reported on Senator Marsha Blackburn’s obstruction of crucial anti-Big Tech FCC nominee Nathan Simington. Blackburn constantly postures as a foe of Big Tech, so why, we asked, was she standing in the way of President Trump’s nomination? Just a few hours after Revolver’s piece went live, Blackburn flipped, announcing that she will happily back Simington’s confirmation in a coming vote.

With Blackburn’s endorsement, sources tell Revolver that only one Republican still stands in the way of Simington’s likely confirmation: Alaska Republican Dan Sullivan.

Blackburn explained her hesitation by citing (thankfully unjustified) concerns about Simington’s experience and preparedness. Sullivan, in contrast, has avoided publicly commenting on Simington. One likely reason is that his concerns aren’t really related to Simington at all. Instead, Sullivan has been in a running feud with FCC Chairman Ajit Pai for most of the the Trump Administration. more

  1. Marsha Blackburn is a self-serving, cocktail party, establishment republican opportunist. She has a conservative voting record, but there is something about her that I can’t quantify, but just doesn’t feel right.

I could be wrong. She’s the junior Senator behind Lamar Alexander, but now she assumes the senior Senator status. I’ll reserve further judgement until I see her actions and positions in her new role, but…

  2. @stirrin the pot, let me refresh your memory about blackburn. What is off about her is she is an vicious animal abuser. She is into “Big Lick” Walking Horses. Bing it, it will make you vomit. She is a vile, disgusting POS. I told ya’ll about her years ago.

  3. @SNS – I have lived in Tennessee for 30+ years. The Walking Horse industry has major money invested and involved in it, and every politician has turned a blind eye to the “soring” done to horses to make them “walk that way”, including Marsha.

As vile as that may be, and it certainly speaks to her character, it’s secondary to the damage that she can potentially inflict to the country. She wets her finger and sticks it up in the air to see which way the self-serving political winds are blowing. First and foremost are her committee assignments, her office location and her cocktail party invites.
