All Hands are Required to Stop a Ban on Commonly Held Arms in Colorado

GOA: The State Assembly is continuing to expand its draconian edicts that will eviscerate remnants of lawful firearms ownership in Colorado.

House Bill 23-1230 is intended to stop all legal commerce and would significantly curtail ownership of commonly held arms that are protected under the Second Amendment. Of the roughly 393 million lawfully owned firearms in the United States, over 20 million are of the type that would be arbitrarily banned as so-called “assault weapons.”

Of special concern to all current owners, the sweeping language of this unconstitutional edict would ban commonly held arms that have ONE of the capricious characteristics of a so-called “assault weapon” from being sold within Colorado. Meaning that if your semiautomatic firearm has ONE of the following features it will be an “assault weapon:” capability of excepting a detachable “high” capacity magazine, lighter weight trigger, a threaded barrel, pistol grip, adjustable stock, barrel shroud (forend) , flash hider or compensator… In short, these egregious infringements would ban most semiautomatic long guns apart from a few bolt, lever, and pump actions that do not exceed the ammunition capacity limit and have a fixed magazine.

Furthermore, a it would also ban a “part or combination of parts designed or intended to convert a firearm into an assault weapon,” meaning you will not have access to spare parts, and you cannot transfer the firearm to your heirs. Nor can the entrepreneurial types cross State lines to buy these arms because importation is banned. MORE

  1. Wow, That’s worse than anything in Cali so far. I always laugh at these tyrant communists and their fear of “Assault Weapons”. The serous people we be pink misting from 1K out. And not with a Semi Auto.

  2. You can freely ban whatever you want.

    – Americans aren’t going to give up their weapons.
    – Nobody with a brains will enforce it.
    – Let the state initiate the “call to arms”. I’m your Hucklebearer.

  3. CO had a slim chance in 2010 to elect a Gov that would have put the kabosh on the leftward path the state was on. It was DJT before there was a Trump to show us how it’s one big party against us rubes.

Tom Tancredo, with the support of the Republican Party would have won. Instead we got more Hickenlooper and finally, although I had left, the pole smoking Polis. Can you imagine homosexual anal sex in the Governor’s Mansion? Am I the only one disgusted?? God Almighty, there’s where you can send the SMOD.

But no, the “Party” just couldn’t abide someone like Tom with such Neanderthal beliefs about illegals pouring into CO or school choice.

Better to go down with the fucking stillborn loser Maes than support a true conservative,

And now they’re outdoing even this shitstain state I live in. Good grief.

  4. MMinWA,

You really still believe that voting is gonna fix this dystopian regime? I bet you think that Gavin Newsom of CA actually won his election and subsequent recall?

California is a RED state and so is Colorado and Arizona for starters.

Voting has been rigged for so long.

  5. Back in 2010, the margin of fraud we had to overcome was generally accepted at 3-5%. You make a long leap saying I believe voting will change things when I’ve said repeatedly since 2020 that it going to be a river of blood. Or that Newsome legitimately avoided a recall. C’mon Dude.

Now of course it’s effortless cheating, they will give just enough votes in a myriad of ways for their guy to win and to avoid a recount. See Joe Kent last go around here, Fetterman in PA or Kari Lake in AZ.

He’s right you know. The systems to far gone to save. They control everything. And when they get your firearms they’ll do to you what they want.
Having said that, we still need to vote. Just in case.

  7. I’ll vote Brad, just in case but look at 2020. Trump was leading hugely in the 5 dem controlled counties that they stopped the voting in(first time ever in our history) 700,000 in PA alone. They left footprints all over the fraud.

In 2022, not hardly a whisper of fraud it was so slick. Read local accounts of Kari Lake’s efforts, the media is all in.

In 2020 it was shaping up to be a land slide for DJT of historic proportions and look what happened.

We both know what needs to happen. It’s gotta be multiple Clive Bundy like confrontations where 100s of local like minded 111%ers show up. Like that church in CA that is being fined $1.2M. They day the authorities come to seize it is the day 400 armed men are there to say no.

  8. When I moved to CO in 1970, District 1(Denver) had a Republican rep. Then 12 terms of Pat Schroader and now the dumbest white person in the House, Diana DeGette. good grief.

Like most blue states, it’s a dense population of rat bastards in a couple of urban areas that control the politics. Most of CO is conservative.
