A Department of Transportation component slammed the brakes following semi-furious opposition to its proposal for “on demand” law enforcement surveillance of commercial vehicles a year and a half ago.
It took another six months to turn over the records after a FOIA lawsuit to compel their release, a day before they were due in court Thursday, with no indication yet from FMCSA when it would release a final rule. more
I want “on demand” citizen surveillance of law enforcement.
…local, state, and fed right up through the DOJ to the Attorney General.
At one time the government held itself to the ‘beyond reasonable doubt’ standard. Today the government standard is ‘what we can get away with’.
Question for all ya all…
Starting about a year ago I noted that many shipments of produce from Mexico was sent by boat to FL and then trucked North to the midwest. Why no longer by truck all the way from Mexico crossing in AZ?
Is something in the shipments being dropped in FL?
Has inspection at the border improved or do we have a new way to bring something in? The new way can’t be cheaper or faster. Are they surveilling these containers?
Just asking.
Probably most trucks have computers to tell the truckers where and when to go. Not hard for feds to tap into that.
try keeping your mfkng ass out, dindus
“Semi-Furious” is like “Semi-Erect”.
Neither one is going to get the job done.
Almost?
