NewYorkPost: Weather and staffing-led turbulence stretched into a fourth day for American Airlines, with the top US carrier canceling more flights on Monday to push the total number to nearly 2,300.
The airline said it canceled 340 flights, or 6% of its total planned flights on Monday, as of 11 a.m. ET.
Staffing shortages have hit American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Spirit Airlines in particular as they ramp up flights ahead of the holiday season but face problems finding enough pilots and flight attendants.

Yeah, technically, I would guess that flight crews calling in sick to avoid vaccine mandates COULD be referred to as “pandemic-related issues”.

Funny how only certain airlines have ‘weather-related cancellations’ at a given time.
I just got home from a scout meeting. One of the leaders announced that kids 5-11 can now get jabs. They were so excited – well the parents anyway. Scoutmaster said it wasn’t required, then reminded them that case numbers are rising here. Ugh.
Flying Southwest this week and next – hope no flights get cancelled! And if I am lucky maybe I will get a pilot who loves the Braves!

The freedom exemption is available to every one and each individual gets to decide for himself if he wants it. Just need to remember, freedom isn’t free.
