I read somewhere that originally Spilberg was going to direct the movie, but then he was replaced by Eastwood. I’m happy that happened Eastwood is a much better choice. However, it would be interesting to know the back story of how the switch in directors came about.
SS wanted a bigger budget that was denied and he dropped out. Due to Bradley Cooper’s schedule this left a tight schedule to complete the filming. And C. Eastwood has a reputation for efficient shoots. Worked out for best, imo
