Anna Paulina Luna Announces That She Is Leaving House Freedom Caucus: ‘Respect Was Shattered’

OAN: In the midst of her conflict with “hard-line” Republicans and other GOP leadership over her support for proxy voting for new parents, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) announced on Monday that she is stepping down from the House Freedom Caucus.

As some conservatives attempted to block her attempt to schedule a vote on parental proxy voting last week, Luna wrote in a letter to Freedom Caucus members that the “respect” among lawmakers in the caucus had been “shattered.”

According to Luna, members of the Freedom Caucus threatened to “halt floor proceedings indefinitely” unless Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) changed House rules to prevent her push.

“With a heavy heart, I am resigning from the Freedom Caucus,” Luna stated in a letter, obtained by The Hill. “I cannot remain part of a caucus where a select few operate outside its guidelines, misuse its name, broker backroom deals that undermine its core values and where the lines of compromise and transaction are blurred, disparage me to the press, and encourage misrepresentation of me to the American people.”

Nevertheless, her statement was not shocking to many, since Luna hinted last week that she would most likely leave the group due to her disagreements with many of its members. However, the letter sent on Monday formalizes that action and represents the most recent development in the conflict over parental proxy voting. more here. h/t joe6pak

You know what that sounds like to me? The Republican Party to a T.

  2. I’m getting to be a big Luna fan. And the old gas bags in the Freedom Caucus have become strait up obstructionists. Libtards stick and vote together. No matter what. They’re lock step. We need to do the same to defeat them. Even Mike Lee seems to be drifting away from these nut jobs.

If she ever needs a body guard I’ll volunteer. Of course I would need to expect what I’m protecting occasionally to make sure I’m doing a good job. I know, Ima pig.

  3. I believe that Ron Paul founded and headed the Freedom Caucus while in Congress. I would never have questioned their integrity back then, but who knows now. EVERY organization should be held to their stated principles. THAT is the only way outsiders can count on them.

  4. After reading more she threw this fit because Freedom Caucus wouldn’t agree to let members vote from home for 12 weeks after having a baby and saying they don’t stand for family.

Judges are hampering Trump’s agenda which is saving the country and she honestly shut Congress down for a week because she couldn’t get her way.

If you can’t do your job then don’t get pregnant.

  5. I had 3 kids, now I put my family first and was a stay at home Mom.
However, I came home after each baby, was able to clean, wash clothes, cook meals, grocery shop, etc.
We also have always lived on a farm, so I also cared for animals, garden, etc.
My sister chose to work and she got 2 weeks off and was back at work.
The most I’ve ever known anyone to get off was six weeks.
Why should she be special? She chose to run for Congress, she chose to get pregnant while being in Congress, knowing there is no voting from home.
Again she’s in Congress, show up for votes and have someone watch your baby in your office or in your rental.
If you truly care about family you would not be screwing all the families out there by acting like an emotional pregnant woman.
I honestly despise all of the GOP.
